Introduction to Fashion Enterprise Module Evaluation

Introduction to Fashion Enterprise Module Evaluation

To conclude the end of the Introduction to Fashion Enterprise Module, I believe I have gained a lot of knowledge and picked up on certain tips and ideas.

Report writing has became one of my strongest points of progression throughout the module. At the start if the module I felt I had know idea on what a report was and how to write a report. I now feel I am confident to write a report on the subject of my choice.

Being introduced to blogging and the hole updating and posting on my blog has gave me confidence to feel free to post at any time of thing I feel is necessary on the research of topics we have covered within lessons. I have posted a lot of research on my blog to do with a future job role I have in mind - Fashion Buying. I have also posted images of my fashion related work throughout the year so I can look back on. I think the hole idea of having a blog is great and I am glad I had the chance to create one through this module.

Learning about the fashion industry structure and Job roles within the fashion industry was interesting. I learnt hole new possibilities of job roles available and has lead me to a much more open path ways I would like to go down, however Fashion Buying been most closest to heart.

Learning Research Techniques, Marketing Techniques and Communication skills has throughly helped me within all of my modules at uni. I now research more professionally and realise the importance of networking and making contacts in the fashion industry.

Getting taught presentational skills really helped me towards gaining confidence in being able to speak aloud in front of the group. Also having a group discussion on how everyone felt about presenting made me realise everyone gets nervous, even the tutors them selfs still. When it came to presenting my blog I really felt confident and thought I presented well. However at the time I wish I had posted more on their so I had more subjects of conversation to talk about. Doing the Pecha Kucha was ideal, as you were made to talk on the spot just from visual images, this I feel I benefitted from towards presenting.

Learning about the business side of fashion has really gave me more knowledge on setting up a business after uni if I really wanted to. However this is not the route I am wanting to take but am glad I have the knowledge of the background of fashion business.

Fashion ethics was a great subject to cover within fashion enterprise, I learnt all about sustainable fabrics and ethnical ways. Fashion ethics is something I will definitely bare in mind for the future designing.

The CV writing lesson was a lot of fun. Creating a CV that was physically appealing proved to be a lot more fascinating and the reader left remembering you than a plain old black and white boring CV. When writing my CV I will take into consideration making it look much more exciting and visual.

Overall I believe my progression throughout the module has increased a lot. Tutorials throughout the way along the module also helped and encouraged me to keep working on my blog and report. The module has helped me throughly on my knowledge of the background of Fashion, I feel I can finish the end of year 1 of my fashion course being a lot more sure of the understanding of fashion.

A Telegraph article I found interesting throughout doing my research into fashion buying

I enjoyed reading what type of things buyers specialise in. Also I found it interesting how
the buyers talked about their target audience, having typical customer
profile to work with. Reading about what influenced them into becoming
fashion buyers is very isprational.
